The CREVT is an innovative, efficient measure of both receptive and expressive
oral vocabulary. The CREVT-2 has two subtests and is based on the most current
theories of vocabulary development. Unique features of the CREVT include:
full color photographs used with the Receptive Vocabulary Subtest; two equivalent
forms available; all words tested are appropriate for children and adults;
all words are related to familiar, everyday concepts; norms have been stratified
by age; studies showing the absence of gender, racial, linguistic, disability,
and ethnic bias have been added; subtests are quick to administer and easy
to score.
The Test can be used to: identify students who are significantly below their
peers in oral vocabulary proficiency; note discrepancies between receptive
and expressive oral vocabulary; document progress in oral vocabulary development
as a consequence of intervention programs; measure oral vocabulary in research
studies.

Expressive One Word Picture Vocabulary Test, Revised, 2000 [EOWPVT-R]

NOW UPPER AND LOWER COMBINED
The EOWPVT 2000, measures a child’s English speaking vocabulary. Verbal
expression of language by means of the child’s ability to make word-picture
associations. The test has also been conormed with the Receptive One-Word
Picture Vocabulary Test (ROWPVT) so that meaningful comparisons can be easily
made between an individual’s expressive and receptive language. Other
notable changes to this edition include the addition and replacement of many
test items as well as new administration procedures that permit the examiner
to prompt or cue examinees so that they will attend to the relevant aspects
of each illustration.

NOW UPER AND LOWER COMBINED
The ROWPVT assesses English hearing vocabulary and is co-normed with the EOWPVT-R
so that meaningful comparisons can be easily made between an individual’s
respective and expressive language. Other notable changes to this edition
include the addition and replacement of many test items as well as the rendering
of all illustrations in full color with drawings that are easy to interpret
and that better hold the examinee’s interest. Raw scores can be converted
to standard scores, percentile ranks, and age equivalents.
